I bought this Apple Mac Mini Desktop because new computers do not come with dial-up modems. It connects me to the web 5x faster than internal modem did. simple to put in. Works great with windows 7. Cost is resonable.

I am using this on two different Win XP computers. I have sent and received faxes through a Vonage (VoIP) phone line and a regular tele. line. No special settings were needed. I am using the windows faxing gizmo (printer) that is part of XP.

BTW - I opted to only install the modem's driver and did NOT install the optional application that allows ""call waiting"" calls to be answered when dialed in to the web.

When I used Apple Mac Mini Desktop for a dial-up web connection, Apple Mac Mini Desktop got a 44kpbs connection right off the bat.
